On of the most interesting ministerial nominees, former Lagos governor, Babatunde Fashola will have his hands full following his confirmation by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday as the Minister of Power, Works and Housing.
Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN was the Lagos State Governor from May 29, 2007 to May 29, 2015.
As Lagos governor, Fashola's administration marked a historic turning point in the life of Lagos as the largest African city.
The implementation of the innovative Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), the seven-rail road network, which are the Red Line from Agbado to Marina and the Blue Line from Okokomaiko to Marina, constructing and equipping thousands of new classrooms, libraries and laboratories in the state, completion of several road projects complete with modern facilities such as street lights, pipe ducts, drainage channels and beautification of medians, the transformation of Oshodi, the fight and victory over the dreaded Ebola virus and several other infrastructural developments are just few among many of his achievements as Lagos governor.
