The crisis between Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State, and his predecessor in office, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, deepened yesterday, following threat by the former to expose the latter alleged shady deals in office.
The crisis between the two top All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftains has already polarised party faithful across the state. Speaking while inspecting road project at Dakata-Bella, Nassarawa local government area of the state, Governor Ganduje said: “Some of the landmark achievements purportedly executed by Kwankwaso were characterised by sharp practices, and we would soon expose him for people to know the calibre of person he is.
We are peaceful people, we do not go about with dangerous weapons and our mission is to improve the welfare of our people and we won’t be distracted.”
He accused Kwankwaso of turning what ought to be a condolence visit to a presidential campaign, and urged him to bury his ambition since there was no vacancy at Aso Rock villa. Ganduje said: “A lot of things have happened recently when some people have been undermining President Muhammadu Buhari. ‘I want to make it clear that we would not tolerate insubordination under our roof and Kano would do the needful whenever the need arises. We are solidly behind President Muhammad Buhari and his programmes.
Kano people will not support anybody working against him. It is unfortunate for the so-called politician who claimed to be leader to hire hoodlums with dangerous weapons to disrupt the peace of the state. Government and security agencies will not tolerate this attitude.’’
He advised Kano citizens to always watch those working against the unity and peace of the state, assuring that all measures had been put in place to restore the lost glory of the state.
