Kano streets was thrown into celebration by General Buhari’s supporters Tuesday evening ahead of the declaration of Buhari as the winner of the keenly contested presidential election.
Tens of thousands poured into the streets including women and mostly youths dressed in the national colours celebrating Buhari’s victory.
A long motorcade of volunteers entertained curious onlookers with life threatening displays.
Commenting on the celebration, a Kano based Human rights activist Ahmed Soron Dinki commended President Jonathan for conceding defeat.
He said that Buhari’s victory is a clear indication that democracy has come to stay in the country.
“I salute the courage of opposition party members for thier effort in changing the political shape of the country. I believed Nigerians are matured enough politically now”.
