Ex-President, General Ibrahim Babangida (IBB) has urged Nigerians to defend themselves against Boko Haram sect members.
He also called for Jihad against the sect members. According to him, there’s nothing wrong if people who are attacked prepare for self-defence, arguing that the act could be regarded as Jihad.
IBB stated this in an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Hausa, on Monday night
. While condemning the Kano central mosque bombings and commiserating with the government and people of the state, IBB lauded the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Lamido Sanusi, for calling for prayers and fasting for peace to reign.
He, however, assured that the Nigerian military has the ability to end the insurgency.
