Twin Bomb Blast in Jos, 30 People reported dead

Two bombs have exploded near a bus station in the city of Jos on Thursday evening, witnesses said, the second one killed at least 30 people.

The first blast was said to have gone off at about 6.30pm at the popular Mr. Biggs, situated in the busy Terminus area of the metropolis, while the second explosive exploded some minutes later along Masalachi Juma road.

Though, casualty figures had yet to to ascertained as of press time, Terminus is usually heavily populated in the evenings when traders, who had been sacked from the area, usually return to make quick evening sales.

The population at Terminus is particularly heavier at this period as residents rush to make Christmas shopping. It also serves as a park for commuters rushing home after the close of work or business.

Also Masalachi Juma has the largest concentration of electronic dealers. It also houses the palace of the Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Buba.

Details are still sketchy, but unconfirmed reports said suicide bombers were responsible for the explosions.
